But we knew one thing for sure: trust is built on integrity. We couldn’t afford to let doubts and skepticism stop us. Despite the odds, we pushed forward. We launched our campaign, and after months of hard work and dedication, we managed to raise over $100,000—a significant achievement for a new company. It was a step forward, but the real journey was just beginning.
With the funds in hand, we eagerly approached factories to begin production. But as first-time entrepreneurs, we struggled to estimate the production timeline accurately. What we thought would be a short wait turned into months of delays. As our backers grew anxious, some began questioning our credibility. Were we really trying to deliver, or were we just stringing them along? We knew that communication and transparency were key to resolving their concerns. So, we patiently explained the situation, showed them the shipping quotes we had received, and even shared pictures of the production line to prove that we were working hard to deliver on our promises. Over time, more and more people believed in us and stuck with us.
But the real obstacle came when the products were finally ready to ship. We had underestimated the costs—both in terms of shipping and customs fees. The logistics company that had initially given us a quote suddenly backtracked, and we found ourselves facing unexpected costs, including higher-than-anticipated marketing expenses. Our crowdfunding funds were no longer enough to cover all of the shipping expenses, and we faced a financial gap.
At this point, we had a choice: we could delay the shipments again or find another way to make it work. We decided to sell a portion of the product to generate additional revenue to cover the shortfall. Even though we were losing money on the initial sales, we made the commitment to honor the original prices and ship the products as promised. We firmly believed that integrity was the foundation of our brand—and we weren’t willing to compromise on that.
It was a difficult time, but we made it through. We fulfilled all our orders and, despite the financial strain, earned the trust of those who had supported us from the beginning. Though we lost money on our first campaign, we gained something far more valuable: the confidence of our customers. And we learned an invaluable lesson: Integrity is not just a value, it’s the backbone of everything we do.
Today, as we look back, we’re grateful to those early supporters who believed in us when the road was rocky and uncertain. Their trust is what allowed us to push through, and it has shaped who we are as a brand. Integrity is still at the heart of everything we do—and it always will be. We may face challenges in the future, but we are committed to doing things the right way, no matter what.
